About Us

Gwyndolyn Balman is the founder of Calming Paws Rats and the one who rescued and trained the Rat Pack. Gwyn passed away in a tragic car accident on November 7, 2022 along with her brother Rowyn. Before Gwyn passed away she had begun researching information on how to train her rats to become therapy rats. Gwyn had anxiety issues and the rats helped her tremendously.  Gwyn's passion for rats and helping others are what led her to begin researching how she could combine those two passions and help erase rat stigmas.
